How To: Email Marketing

Our vast experience marketing hundreds of partners’ programs has shown us that emails are much more likely to convert new members than social media posts! We recommend sending one dedicated email per month on your membership in the early lifecycle of the club.

  • Short and sweet... Keep your copy to a minimum, with a clear ‘call to action’ within the first scroll. Most people will read this on their phones!
  • ...but detailed. Readers respond to descriptive menus or sneak peeks of the upcoming month’s offerings!
  • Timing Matters! Schedule your email for an optimal send time both within the week and within the month. We recommend sending emails in the last 5 days of the calendar month to emphasize the month-end cut-off and drive urgency (i.e. “Sign up by 4/30 at midnight!”). Emails sent on Wednesdays or Thursdays at 3pm have a higher chance of resulting in a new subscription.
  • Design your email. Create the email directly in your email platform, like MailChimp, instead of designing one big image, like in Canva. We’ve discovered that text-based emails have a higher deliverability rate.

  1. Identify sources of existing contacts (POS, reservations, etc)
  2. Download guest data from each source
  3. Upload contacts to your email platform (Mailchimp, Klaviyo, ConstantContact, etc)
